What is the basis or method of your Fullblood Wagyubreeding program? A lot of our animals have been bred with the Takeda four-stage rotational breeding plan. We plan to use the rotational plan, but will always, at a minimum, use Lone Mountain Wagyu’s simple rule…First cows by “Frame” Sires should be bred to “Marbling” Sires. Second Cows by “Marbling” Sires should be bred to “Frame” Sires.

What is the basis or method of your Fullblood Wagyubreeding program? .....There’s hardly any EPD/EBV's or carcass data to use in determining good-effective Wagyu genetics. For that reason a lot of our animals have been bred with the Takeda four-stage rotational breeding plan. We plan to use the rotational plan, but will always, at a minimum, use Lone Mountain Wagyu’s simple rule…First cows by “Frame” Sires should be bred to “Marbling” Sires. Second Cows by “Marbling” Sires should be bred to “Frame” Sires.
Under Mr. Takeda’s four-stage rotational breeding plan (see summary graphic to the right), the emphasis is put on building frame score first, and then marbling. Mr. Takeda maintains that a breeding program based on his rotation technique is more likely to deliver the best overall profitability in the long term.
For each of the Groups: A, B, C, and D, Mr. Takeda lists the traits in order of priority and significance.
